Kylie Dickerson has won the GNeUS Global Neutron Scientists Fellowship from the European Union for neutron research. She will be stationed at the FRM2 research reactor in Munich, Germany starting in late fall 2024 under the direction of FRM research scientist Earl Babcock. Her fellowship also involves a few-month stay at the neutron optics company Mirrortron, located near Budapest, Hungary. She will engage in neutron optics research involving computation of antineutron supermirror reflection and development of Dove prisms for neutrons.
In their own words, the aim of GNeuS is "to provide an excellent individually tailored training scheme to boost the career chances of the fellows, especially in terms of expanding knowledge, networking and increasing long-term employability. The GNeuS programme is based on “individual-driven mobility” to guarantee the fellow’s free choice of a research topic, host organization, and supervisor." The program is supported through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Grant Agreement N°101034266.
