Congratulations to Rebecca Barsotti! Rebecca was one of 65 graduate students nationwide to receive a fellowship through the Department of Energy's Office of Science Graduate Student Research Fellowship Program. Rebecca is a member of the IU Hadronic Physics Group and will be spending the next year working at Jefferson Lab with staff scientist Dr. Alex Austregesilo on the GlueX Experiment. Rebecca and Alex will be collaborating with researchers from the Joint Physics Analysis Center to model the production mechanisms for the reaction γp→ηπp, which is a key reaction in the search for exotic hybrid mesons.
