We are happy to welcome our new assistant professor of physics, Walter Pettus who joined the department this fall. Walter earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin and was a postdoc at the University of Washington before coming to IU. His area of research interest is experimental nuclear physics. He is active in efforts to search for neutrinoless double beta decay and to measure the absolute neutrino mass using new precision measurement techniques in beta decay spectroscopy.
