Department of Physics

A recent meeting of the APS Leadership Convocation provided an opportunity for an impromptu reunion of three alumni from our department. The current chair of the APS division of Physics of Beams (Sergei Nagaitsev), is joined in this picture with both that division’s immediate past-chair (Michiko Minty), and the current chair-elect (Sarah Cousineau). That three successive chairs of this APS division came from this department’s program in Accelerator Physics provides great testimony to the impact our department has had on this field over the last several decades.
