IUB physics graduate student Jammel Brooks has been awarded a fellowship from the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). The NSF GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees. To carry out her proposed research, Jammel will collaborate with Prof. Chris Meyer and the IU group using the ATLAS detector at CERN's Large Hadron Collider to search for an as-yet unobserved heavy-Higgs boson that decays to a vectorlike lepton and a standard lepton, predicted to exist in a model developed by IU theorist Prof. Radovan Dermisek.
