A Nuclear Physics Seminar will be held in Swain W. 214 titled "Scaling properties of exclusive vector meson production cross section from gluon saturation" presented by Vladimir Khachatryan at 4:00 pm.
Abstract:
It is known from phenomenological studies that in exclusive deep-inelastic scattering off nuclei there appears to be a scaling behavior of vector meson production cross section in both nuclear mass number, A, and photon virtuality Q2, which is strongly modified due to gluon saturation effects. One can make quantitative predictions related to the gluon saturation for the kinematics of the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), using a realistic setup based on a Monte Carlo event generator called Sartre, and focusing on the A and Q2 scaling picture, which may potentially be observed at the EIC. In this talk we will discuss our results in terms of cross-section pseudo-data, which are obtained by parsing data collected by Sartre through smearing functions, emulating the proposed detector resolutions for the future EIC.
