by numbering all four team blanks in order of your preference (1 is most
preferred and 4 is least preferred). Be sure to mark all four blanks. You will be assigned to a primary team
and a secondary team, one in the HEADS-ON group and the other in the HANDS-ON
group. Look at the enclosed
calendar to learn more about the work each team will do during the week.
Heads-on group
up team—WEB: Work on web page design and
post workshop data and information to the QuarkNet web site, and assist the TOP
and BOTTOM team.
Down team—Theory: Lean more on the physical
and mathematical nature of cosmic rays and propose an experiment to conduct
using your school's cosmic telescope, and assist the TOP and BOTTOM team.
Hands-on group
Top Team—Electronics: Test the electronics,
plateau and calibrate the phototubes, build and test a protype electronics
module.
Bottom team—Mechanical
Systems: Assemble
and light proof the scintillation plates, wave quides and phototube
systems. Assemble the prototype cosmic telescope stand
and supporting frame.
The T-Shirt is just now
being designed, so if you have some ideas email them to: dblair@mccsc.edu. The shirt will be high quality, with at
least the QuarkNet Logo and Counting Cosmics on it. The cost will be $15.00, and must be paid in advance. Please make the checks payable to
Dave Blair, and mark the "For/Memo" blank on the check with
"QuarkNet T-Shirts".
We will email a picture when we complete the design, and shirts will be
ready when you arrive on campus.
