Meeting Place- Kirkwood Hall College of Arts and Sciences

Meeting time 3:30

Attendance: Rick, Dave, Matt, Lisa Pratt, Cathy Brown.

This meeting was arranged through Cathy Brown, as a result of her reading the Counting Cosmics grant, and the purpose is to explore funding for the project through COAS.

The nature of the project was described by Rick, Matt and Dave. Lisa Pratt immediately provided her endorsement and stated that the project was precisely the kind of activity that COAS wants to support. We explored ways that both COAS and the School of Education could contribute to the project. The following items were discussed and agreed upon.

COAS could help with student housing and meals for a one or two week workshop for 20 to 25 students.

COAS could provide technical support by providing staff for 4 weeks total for mechanical and electrical consulting.

The School of Education could provide support for web page development through IST.

A recommendation was made to look for additional money support from QuarkNet (summer teacher pay) and Eisenhower funds.

The meeting adjourned about 4:30.
