For the SciBath detector at IUCF we have been experimenting with generating fast (4-5 ns FWHM) light pulses from LEDs. Here is a single blue LED pulser:

Hans-Otto Meyer built a variable color pulser based on a white LED and filters:

We have constructed a breadboard with 64 blue LEDs which can be individually addressed:

This was tested by looking at the light pulses with a photomultiplier:

The array of LEDs has been coupled to an array of fibers which will be used to inject light into a 64 anode PMT:

Here is the printed circuit board version with computer control of the LED selection. 12 boards are needed.
