Nastassje was a Persian, born July 29, 1991, died Jan.23 2006. She was charcoal gray in color and a very together lady, definitely top cat.
Ashley was Nastassje's sister and littermate, died 05 June 2004. She was "blue" (actually silver gray) in color, with a very luxurious heavy fur. Very timid. Many houseguests never got to see her at all.
Winston was a Himalayan, born 16 Feb. 1991, died 18 April 2000. A true friend. He was quite clever, making up games and tricks and teaching them to us. A human standing near an open closet became his springboard, from chair to shoulders to closet shelf and later in reverse. Startling to the uninitiated.
In their nine years together, our three indoor cats evolved an interesting social structure. They would play a variety of hunting games where one cat was the hunter, one was the prey, and the third was observer or referee. They would take turns in assigning the roles. Occasionally the two sisters would gang up on Winston, and hunt him down as a team. He was not amused.
