- A5 - 1 A long slot of rectangular cross section is machined into a conductor. The slot has depth L and gap g between its sidewalls. The bottom (x = 0) and two sidewalls ( y = + g/2 and y = -g/2) are all at potential V = 0. The cover at x = L has a smooth distribution of potential of the form V = Vo sin (2*pi*y /g). Find the two components of electric field (Ex, Ey) on the midplane (y = 0) and the surface charge distributions induced on the three conducting inside surfaces of the slot
