RESEARCH FUNDING
AGENCY:
Department of Energy. Senior Principal Investigator,  continuous funding for 25 years. Over these years, the initial grant of $20,000 grew to over $200,000 per year, supporting four faculty, two postdoctoral research associates and several graduate students.
PERSONAL:
Married 1964, Jeanette (deceased 2001). Three children (Diana, Andrew, and Gordon), seven grandchildren (Austin, Meredith and Greer; Tessa and William; Alexandra and Austin).
Remarried 2007, Muriel. We divide our time between Oxford, England and La Jolla, California.
