A6-2 Pressure force, Bed of nails
Purpose: To demonstrate difference between pressure and force.
Description: The object lays on a bed of nails which consists of a 1 ft by 5 ft plywood board 3/4 inch thick with a square array of 3 inch nails in which the nearest neighbor distance is 1 inch. See detail instruction on file.
References:
Equipment: Bed of nails, sledge hammer, 3 pairs of protective glasses, Plexiglas shield to protect the object's face and head, cinder block, plywood board to lay the block, soft cushion to support the head of the object.
